How They Met
Jenna and Alex met back in 2010 while in high school. Jenna was involved in the drama program and they were competing in the MA State Drama Festival. In 2010, the host school was St. John’s Prep which is where Alex was attending. He was volunteering for community service hours and they ended up sitting next to each other. He overheard her say that she was hungry, so he offered to share his box of fruit loops, and the rest is history!
The Engagement
Jenna was out of state visiting family and her flight home arrived late. Alex had made dinner plans for them, and she came up with every excuse in the book to not get dressed up and leave the house. Somehow Alex managed to get her to go to dinner, and when they arrived, Alex’s best friend, Sam, greeted them at the door. He offered to buy them a drink on the roof deck. As soon as we got up to the roof deck we were greeted with a gorgeous sunset and suddenly Sam had disappeared. I turned to look for him and when I turned back to Alex he was down on one knee proposing!
The Wedding Day
Alex grew up on his grandparent’s farm in Maine, so they knew The Barn at Gibbet Hill would be perfect for their wedding. These high school sweethearts, like so many others, decided to get married on their original date in 2020 after having to reschedule their wedding to 2021. Sometimes when editing a couple’s wedding film, it can be difficult to figure out how to tell their story. Everything was light and fun throughout the ceremony and toasts until it was mentioned that they both experienced the tragic loss of a parent as children. I wanted to make sure there was a moment dedicated to their parents’ honor, while also keeping the film upbeat and happy.
