Dominique & Marie | Grand View | Mendon, MA

Their Story

Dominique and Marie first crossed paths in 2012. Dominique was bartending around Boston after graduating college, while Marie was working as a server on Newbury St while attending grad school in Boston. They both went to Back Bay Social Club as a regular post-work hangout spot.

Fast forward to 2016, and they came across each other on a dating app. After a few weeks of chatting, they decided to go on a date at a Mexican restaurant at Assembly Row in Somerville. Dom arrived at 5:30 pm to make sure she had a prime parking spot, so she could drive Marie to her car after dinner. Marie arrived at 7 pm, the scheduled time to meet. Marie remembers what sealed the deal for her with Dom that night: her “Nanny”, who always wore a miraculous medal, kept popping up in her head–the same exact kind that Dom wore on their first date.

About a year later, Dom started planning her proposal plan for Marie. She planned a Christmas-loving-day filled with Starbucks, shopping, and decorating. Marie loves the beach and Dom loves the snow, so Dom decided to bring Marie to their favorite place, Canoe Beach. When they arrived, it started to snow and Dom got on one knee. They both cried and Marie said YES!

Two months later, Marie planned a proposal for Dom. They had planned a girls skiing weekend in Maine so Dom could ask her friend Kerrin to be her Maid of Honor. After a long day of skiing, Kerrin and Marie convinced Dom to walk down a beautiful snow-covered trail. When they finally made it to the proposal spot, Dom of course said YES!

The Wedding Day

Dominique and Marie got married on a chilly November day in Mendon, MA at the Grand View. Marie’s family is from PA and Dom’s from MA, so they were trying to look for somewhere in the middle for both families to travel to. They looked at multiple venues, feeling defeated, and almost didn’t go to their appointment at Grand View. It was the last one on their list, but the second they pulled up, they knew they found the perfect spot.

Dom chose an elegant, a-line wedding gown with long, lacy sleeves and heavily-beaded bodice. She had her hair pulled back in a low up-do paired accompanied by a crystal-lined hip-length veil. Dom chose an artificial bouquet with pearl and crystal brooches.

Marie chose a sophisticated, satin skirt ballgown wedding gown accented with a lacey, deep v-neckline. She had her hair pulled back into a low up-do showing off her pearl earrings with a cathedral veil. Her bouquet was made up of blush and white florals and greenery.

Dom and Marie wanted their wedding to feel intimate, romantic, and meaningful. The whole wedding day was definitely emotional and you could feel the love from both the couple and their families. From their reactions at their first look to their heartfelt vows and letters to Marie’s father singing their father-daughter dance song. It truly was a special experience for us to be a part of, and we are so grateful they chose us to capture their special day.
