How They Met

Winnie and Tommy are high school sweethearts! Their love story began at just 17 years old when Winnie asked Tommy to the winter formal in 2006. Since then, they have literally grown up together and helped each other pursue their dreams and careers.

The Engagement

After several years of dating, Tommy decided to get down on one knee and proposed to Winnie on Thanksgiving Day in 2017 at their home in front of their friends and family.

The Venue

Winnie and Tom got married at the Villa at Ridder Country Club in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. When searching for a venue, Winnie was hoping to find something that was elegant but also had a touch of rustic style. When she walked into the Madera Ballroom, she immediately fell in love with the wooden beams and knew this was the right space for them.

The Wedding Day

Winnie and Tom got married on July 6, 2019, at the Villa at Ridder Country Club in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. It was a hot and humid summer day with temperatures in the mid-90s!

The day began with a tea ceremony at Winnie and Tommy’s home. In traditional Chinese culture, the wedding tea ceremony represents love and fertility, as well as showing respect for one’s parents for their love and support over the years. Many family members participated in the ceremony, giving Winnie and Tommy red envelopes and jewelry gifts.

After the tea ceremony, Winnie’s bridesmaids went to help her get ready for the wedding. Winnie’s dress is a sheath silhouette with lace and an illusion neckline. There is also a petite bow belt to define the waist and a gorgeous train in the back. Winnie originally wanted her hair down, but with the humid weather she opted to have a “Hollywood-glam” up-do and it was gorgeous. Winnie’s bouquet was all white garden roses.

The first look was at a nearby park and we had such a fun time with this upbeat and “ready to pose” bridal party! When filming Winnie and Tommy, it felt like we were doing an editorial shoot or commercial. They were so sweet and patient, and it really shows in their film.

Luckily we got all of the portraits in when we did because as soon as we arrived at The Villa, the skies opened up with a major thunderstorm. The ceremony got moved inside, but their backdrop was stunning nonetheless with tons of candles, flowers, and the roaring fireplace.

After the ceremony, the room was turned over for the reception and the elegance continued. The centerpieces were made up of floating candles in glass vases and the whole room had a romantic, elegant mood. Once those lights went down, the party got started quickly. These were some of the craziest dance moves we’ve seen yet!
