High School Sweethearts Jenny & Ricky’s Romantic Backyard Wedding

Jenny and Ricky, high school sweethearts from Cambridge, MA, celebrated their love with a sweet backyard wedding surrounded by family, friends, and their beloved dog, Luci. From their high school dances at Matignon to Ricky’s unforgettable proposal on Wingaersheek Beach, their wedding day was the perfect start to forever.

Their Love Story

Some love stories feel like they’re straight out of a movie, and Jenny and Ricky’s wedding was exactly that. These two high school sweethearts first met in the fall of 2008 when they were freshmen at Matignon High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ricky asked Jenny to their first “Winter Ball,” and by sophomore year, they were officially dating. They went to every school dance together and grew from high school crushes into lifelong partners.

After graduation, Jenny pursued her career as a registered nurse while Ricky became a project manager in construction management. They bought a house in Woburn, MA, and built a life together with their sweet dog, Luci. It was only fitting that Luci played a role in their proposal too! On the Fourth of July in 2018, while visiting Ricky’s parents’ summer home in Gloucester, he popped the question in the most thoughtful way. During a walk on Wingaersheek Beach, Jenny noticed Luci’s new dog tag—which read “Will you marry me?” Of course, she said yes!

The Wedding Day

When it came time to plan their wedding, Jenny and Ricky decided on something intimate, personal, and close to home. Their backyard wedding was the perfect blend of romance and celebration, surrounded by their closest family and friends. From the heartfelt vows to the warm toasts, every moment reflected their deep connection and history together.

Although they’ll be celebrating again at Cruiseport Gloucester for their one-year anniversary, their backyard wedding was such a beautiful representation of who they are—a couple whose love has only grown stronger through the years.

Jenny and Ricky’s story is proof that sometimes, true love really does start in high school.
